Federal President Steinmeier accredits four new ambassadors

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier accredited four new ambassadors at Bellevue Palace this Monday. The diplomats will represent Austria, Bangladesh, Iran and Chad in the Federal Republic.

The accredited ambassadors are:

- Dr. Alexander Marschik, Ambassador of Austria

- Muhammad Zulqar Nain, Ambassador of the People's Republic of Bangladesh

- Majid Nili Ahmadabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran

- Abassalah Youssouf, Ambassador of the Republic of Chad

Dr. Alexander Marschik was most recently Permanent Representative of Austria to the United Nations in New York. He also held several positions at his country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including as Section Head for Bilateral Affairs and the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy, and as Political Director.

Muhammad Zulqar Nain was most recently ambassador to the Bangladesh Mission in Algeria. He previously served as his country's Deputy High Commissioner in the United Kingdom.

Majid Nili Ahmadabadi is a professor of electrical and computer engineering. Before working in Germany, he was Assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister and Director General for Western Europe for two and a half years.

Abassalah Youssouf was Secretary General of the Prime Minister's Office of Chad. From 2012 to 2016, he was ambassador to Russia with simultaneous accreditation for Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland and Uzbekistan.
